The romances were 100% better than the OT, you actually get to see the little changes and flirts in conversations, and actual romantic involvement or at least attempts to do something romantic (rather than a yes and one final sex scene, with absolutely no romantic interaction before or after that was in the OT). To celebrate N7 Day, EA and BioWare released a brand new piece of artwork, teasing the next entry. 3 was much better, I was actually invested in talking to crew between missions to see what they had to say or how they interacted (Garrus and Tali trying to brush off their makeout session), but the Tempest Crew actually felt like a family, their interactions felt genuine and changed over the course of the game, you could see them grow during their loyalty missions. Snipers and pistols were objectively useless imo though because of the bulletsponge nature of anything above normal, I just stuck to a beam emitter Valkyrie most of the game cause it had good DPS to take down enemies after combos.Ĭrew was a definite improvement over the OT, in ME1 and 2 they had their moments and interactions, but felt severely limited and pointless to talk to people on the Normandy if you got all their prompts out of the way the first time. Terrifying enemies will challenge players and their crew, forcing them to utilize. I get that they had to make it easy for new players who never touched the OT, and I think they did an good job, not perfect, but if you never touched the OT then it was a pretty good story.Ĭombat fluidity was good, didn't really agree with the 3 skill limit since I felt like I limited my skills only to the most obviously useful ones (Flamethrower, Overload, Energy Drain / Charge, Annihilation, Lance) to set up mass combo detonations and instant shield regen, but it was definitely useful to not have my skill chaining by a universal cooldown. I agree, I think that overall it was a pretty good game (maybe I lack the bias that early players had with the bugs and the character model issues), while the story was decent, they had to pack in a new "big bad" for the galaxy that needed to be addressed in one game, instead of being built up over the course of three in order to give the Initiative a challenge. Took about 60 hours to get 93% completion of the game. I actually just finished Andromeda today, using the origin $5 vault feature.
